Review: Murder on the Night Shift by Kathy Cohen

Murder on the Night Shift is an enjoyable mystery which will keep you guessing till the end.

Buy or Pass Recommendation: A strong yes for fans of cosy mysteries.

The Good

You know it’s a good book when you can’t wait to finish it.

Murder on the Night Shift is the first book in the Ellie Schimmel mystery series, and the author provides enough back history and character development to keep you invested while, at the same time, making you itch for more.

Having read enough mystery books to last a lifetime, it was not particularly hard to guess the identity of the murderer, but the motive had me flummoxed. So, kudos to the author for maintaining a sense of mystery till the very end.

The Bad

Nothing; it’s a good read through and through.

The Nit-picks

None.

It was a joy to read this book. Took me back to my Nancy Drew days. I hope the author continues to develop this series. If you like cosy mysteries, you’ll like this book.
