Review: Percival Gynt and the Conspiracy of Days

With plot speed approaching FTL levels, Percival Gynt and the Conspiracy of Days is a zany read with plenty of laugh-out-loud moments.

Buy or Pass Recommendation: A strong yes for fans of humorous science fiction.

The Good

In terms of sensibility, Percival Gynt and the Conspiracy of Days feels like the brain child of Douglas Adam and the creators of Doctor Who. The plot is crazy, the characters even more so, but all in a good way. I adored Officer Um and Esme, and not unsurprisingly, the most hilarious moments involve these two in some capacity. And who knew the Apple watch would still be a thing? In 20018!

The Bad

I was underwhelmed by Tarot’s secret and caught off-guard by Percival’s. It took me a minute to reconcile his dark and tragic past with the eccentric tone of the book.

The Nit-picks

Nothing that stood out.

Percival Gynt and the Conspiracy of Days was an absolute delight to read. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series, and hope it comes out soon. Fans of Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, pick up a copy of this book. You won’t regret it.
